Power Cycle Your Radio/Antenna,
Home Routers/hubs, and Computer (turn it off then back on).
From time to time, any one of the
links in the chain of the network equipment can become
unhappy. This could be caused by power fluctuations
from Sierra Power, Microsoft's Windows operating system,
Virus Activity, Worms, any of the home routers, switches, or
hubs, in the network, lightening or a number of other
things.
One of the most basic trouble
shooting techniques we use is to power cycle the system.
Turn off the power to the whole system (don't forget your
router if you have one) and start everything up from
scratch. Make sure that you wait at least 10 seconds after
powering down to let the internal power supplies time enough
to discharge fully. Some self installed routers care as to
what is powered up first. Start with our radio
equipment on the roof, then the home router(s) then
the computer. Allow 2 minutes between each.
Most of the time a power cycle on
our radio/antenna and your router will do the job. If the
power cycling did not work then please contact us.
