The Internet is a tough place much like the world in which we live.  You wonder how any human could have implemented 9-11 Well they did and the same kind of people and maybe the same people are making survival on the Internet a challenge.

· Don’t use the Internet without good virus protection that is updated automatically. Norton 2003 (2004 has some issues) or McAfee 2004 both have a year of free updates.
 
· Don’t use high speed Internet like DSL or wireless without a hardware firewall. We can supply and install such.
 
· Don’t expect to use the Internet without good spy-ware loaded on your computer. This software is used for any number of things from targeting advertising to stealing credit card numbers. Good spy-ware removal tools are Spybot S&D, Adaware and Spysweeper. Some recommend you run them once a day.
 
· If you use programs like "Kazaa" and "Music-Match", look out you are networked to the whole world and are open for all kinds of hacking. The best protection in the world may not be good enough.
 
· Popups are very annoying to say the least. You can install the Google.com tool bar and that helps a lot. Ebay has a similar tool bar that helps. Stop-the-pop-up is another one that is popular.
